Axel and Hulda Funke came from Forshem in Västergötland. In 1906 they moved to the island
of Nämdö in the Stockholm archipelago. Axel had been engaged there as a cantor and schoolteacher.
In 1908, when their daughter Anna was born, they returned to Forshem to visit their families.
Axel took the chance to take some photos.

This is Hulda with her daughter Anna in the baby carriage (Anna was born 11 May 1908).
Hulda's parents, Olaus and Anna Eriksson, are sitting next to her.
To the left you can see her brother Emil and his wife Tilda with their children.

Axel took photos of his old friends, relatives and neighbours. But he did not leave any notes
for us telling what's on all these photos.
All data about these pictures has been collected by Barbro Arenäs Nilsson during
visits to Forshem when she met friends interested in the local history.
But still the information about these pictures and their portrayed people is meagre.

I owe many thanks to Ann-Charlotte Sågerås and Jonas Ringholm, who made it possible to publish
these photos! I am also thankful to Lars Westerberg at our local museum, Skärgårdsmuseet, who has
lent us the glass negatives left by Axel Funke!
